Well, maybe charity isn't the right word, but an organization that needs volunteers to fulfill their mission.

It is the San Diego Oceans Foundation.

http://www.sdoceans.org

I am going to volunteer in their Ocean In Motion program. I will be teaching kids how to snorkel in the ocean.

I had my first orientation meeting the other night, and in water orientation is this Saturday.

Some of these kids have never been in the ocean, and might not even know how to swim. Since i am half fish, i thought i could help them out.

Anyone want to join me?

It should be lots of fun.

RJ,

No sissy snorkels for The Zip.

The Merced sounds pretty hardy for snorkeling. What's the temperature?

I finished the classroom session, and the in water training was done this weekend. First class is next Saturday.

It appears as though the hardest thing will be to figure out what size wetsuit the kids wear, but i am sure the course director will provide assistance in that area.

Lynne wants to volunteer too, but first wants me to see if they have a snorkel color that will match her nails.

I will try to post some pics..
