Can anyone tell me where in the JTree area one can find a WIFI connection? This past December the only one I could find (apart from a motel) was at the Water Canyon Coffee House in Yuca Valley. YV Library has internet, but only for their own computers; no WIFI.

So it would appear Khanom didn't stick with the non-computer lifestyle he wrote about a while pack.(though he's still not been posting much at all lately)

So - wifi at the Saloon? Thanks for mentioning it; I will update the Tree Info page I made.

DougalClimber - Here's the link: http://www.squidoo.com/firt-timers-guide-to-joshua-tree

It sounds like the Saloon is ...ummmm, interesting. I wish I had gone on my last trip. The night of my arrival, The Cactus Pricks were playing there. I had seen it online, but forgotten, and when I rolled in to town I stopped by Coyote Corner to do emails. But my computer wireless thing is funky; never know if it will work or not. As I sat there being frustrated with no wireless, I heard a tinge of punk music wafting through the airwaves..... It was they!(The Cactus Pricks) but I was too tired to connect the dots, and - maybe more likely - to timid to go in and investigate.

Maybe they can get another date there when I am next to Jtree(3/26 - 4/7)....
