I met Cosmic at the 247 Cafe in Lucerne for our Hercules Finger adventure. Duane and his father put up the first ascent many years before. He was nice enough to let me lead, since it was my first time on this beauty.

Lars Johansen has been bugging me since I moved here to locate Hercules Finger so I could guide him out there. This photo is for Lars.

Full Moon over Hercules Finger!

Thank you Cosmic, you are a fun partner to hang out with.

Did it back when Congress shut the government down and the Monument was closed.

Great days! No BLM

You could 4WD right up to the base.

What's the approach beta now?

Got'ta take the kids out there.

Cosmic and his Dad. No kidding!

I showed my Dad some pics of a trip my pals and I took out there, and he insisted on holding them all sideways - so the rock looked like something that's not a finger.

Hmm I always thought the Main Vein stayed on the left side of the arete (aka South side)not crossing over the arete to the right (aka the East Face). No matter, just thought it was weird he was on the east face not south.

That's my recollection of the name, and I basically followed the line of nice shiny bolts.
