OK, I know people are fed up with the political threads here. I have to admit, they do get old, but I have to vent one final time.
The new admin is doing the same sh#t as the old admin. Extraordinary rendition, executive privilege keeping Rove from testifying, no protests as the SCOTUS makes further rulings eroding our constitutional rights (link).
As a nation, and as a microcosm on this board, we have all drunk the koolaid. We bought the dems vs. repubs sales pitch and ran with it. While we have been busy fighting each other over meaningless party affiliations our nation has been stolen from us.
We exist in an oligarchy. The same inbred f*#kwads run our country. The things the founding fathers warned us about are coming to pass. We are on a path to a fascist state.
We need to stop listening to the paid shills from both sides and evaluate exactly what issues are worth fighting for.

"Capitalism"; noun, a country ruled by the bankers.
There is a difference between the Dems and the Republicans though; as one cynic put it recently, the democrats at least have the decency to bring lube to the gang rape.

One more term by a president adhering to the aims of the last one would have moved the Supreme Court irrevocably far in that direction. I consciously avoid saying to the "right" because the last administration was not "conservative". It was something else altogether. I won't put a name to it.
We were one term away from the complete destruction of our Constitution.

I'm traveling and haven't been able to follow things closely but hope we'll all continue to call the government on their misdeeds, even while giving the new guard a chance and not trying to pick a fight simply based on our bias.
There is zero doubt that Obama is either faced with working with powerful entrenched forces that hold serious power, or is in bed with them. Either way, I'll be watching to see how he walks the tightrope.

1. Never vote for the DemocanRepublicrat War Regime. It was controlled by the lucrative military industrial complex since WWII.
2. Ask and answer the questions to advance your knowledge into the process to promptly correct all the human-caused contradictions (problems), for the value of that knowledge. That requires that you ask and answer a lot of questions, but worth it to escape the frustrations of the unquestioning people who are always blaming the other guy rather than the related mechanism in any power-damaged mind.
3. With that readily available knowledge, you will thoroughly enjoy the human comedy.
4. Just be careful about suddenly bursting out laughing when you should be concentrating on a hand-hold or belay.
And send your old ice axe to the Alaskan Alpine Club museum. The club just wired its annual dues to UIAA, just to irritate Putnam and his pocket American Alpine Club drones who are enraged because they can't put the Alaskan climbers back under the AmerAC's National Park Service heel. They own nearly all the unquestioning lower 48 climbers, except the Alaskan Alpine Club members among them, much to our ongoing amusement.

noshirt, yes ! But as long as every human in the US says to you...."I'M JUST SO BUSY....or I REALLY NEED THE MONEY" our country is screwed.
Being too busy to do what is right and needed is Wrong.
Greed kills the heart, soul and spirit. So, just how much money do you need ? How much goes to helping others ????
Not spewing this to yo out there ! These are some serious Questions Lynnie has been asking her own self.

At this point it's like f*ck all that sh*t - - back to Emerson's Self Reliance . . . Cast the bantling on the rocks,
Suckle him with the she-wolf's teat;
Wintered with the hawk and fox,
Power and speed be hands and feet.

This is America foolz; the people have the power.
One man or woman CAN make a difference, it is all about how you spend your time and what is important to you.
Look at the history of the US; how many times did ONE man or ONE woman's efforts change the course of history? Beyond the the grand narrative, imagine all the forgotten faces that were not included in our history books but whose actions inspired those who did change history.
If you don't make an effort to leave the world a better place, you are only wasting everyone's time by ranting on Internet about how f*#ked up everything is. Message boards are fun, but so is masturbating...
