Ron Kauk will give a slideshow at Stanford next Monday.
I'm not sure of the exact subject, but I'm sure he'll have some recent climbing shots and discuss his recent film projects in Yosemite, too.
Be there to check it out!

When: Monday January 26, 7:30pm
Where: Clark S360, on the Stanford campus (Palo Alto, CA)
map/directions: http://alpineclub.stanford.edu/info/clarkmap.htm
details/slideshow calendar: http://alpineclub.stanford.edu/info/calendar.html

Mmmm, Uli Biaho.... First ascent, and I think the first grade VII big wall route?

2. East Face (VII, 5.11d, A4, 1000m, 34 pitches) Bill Forrest, Ron Kauk, John Roskelley, Kim Schmitz; 24 June - 5 July 1979, first ascent to the summit (AAJ 53, vol.22 no.2 1980, p. 405 „The Obvious Line – Uli Biaho” John Roskelley)

I saw Ron speak here in Los Angeles about a year or do ago. It was a good show. He has a strong connection with the spirit and feel of things, if you enjoy that perspective.

Go see the show (that is, if he can get his van started)!

Neither, rain, nor sleet, nor dark of night [nor old van] ... shall keep a climber away from wherever they want to go!

Ron Kauk and Steve Sutton on Calaveras Ledges, March 1977 after the FIRST storm!
(winter conditions ascents of the North American Wall)

Path to Uli Biaho!

hey there... say, bump.... as i know it IS on front now, but things move fast around here.... and i am getting off line to work on some stuff...

have a great show, ron... hope all goes super-well... hope some supertopo folks get there too...

hope you all have some supersupper, too, at some point... or at least a few beers/etc....

god bless... (say, give some feedback, later, you all----one the show, not the supper/drinks, etc....)

*on second thought---feedback on all, is welcomed... specially by folks like me, that don't get out much... we love to hear how folks are having good buddy time!

god bless, once again...

It was free. Great show, Ron is a really cool guy.
Tellin me about the time his parents took him to San Gregorio Beach or thereabouts, when he was 11 months old, and the tide came in, so they had to be rescued off the beach, probably the only time he had to be rescued.

Packed house SRO, 100 people, sold a lot of stuff so good for Ron.

email him for lessons and swag,
