Anyone heard about this? It definitely would suck if true. But I'm no "insider" and have no clue if this is for real.

In brief: video claims the biggest ISPs are planning on making internet access into a cable TV style subscription where you only get access to a few mainstream web sites unless you pay for "deluxe" higher fee service. Result is small web sites will be driven off the net.

oh they're gonna try - make no mistake
they missed the boat on the net and want more more money
but
it won't fly
the net will fracture
there will be some small isp that will still get you on some other feed and it will all be there
or we go to mesh networks and all the local wifi is its own net
some sort of dns hack, maybe a covert namespace, private dns servers and you get info by word of mouth, but it will be there...

oh something's coming - there is too much free information everywhere and the people with all the money and power are hating that
HATING...
they're going to sell it based on hate speech and child pr0n
but its really about viral videos
and not being able to sell the message
because the people have some of their own
and cops getting busted beating people on bicycles
when the video surfaces...

i don't think it can stick
the genie is out of the bottle on the net concept
and that will come back
or be made illegal, in which case i think we will have other fish to fry...
