Just wondering if anybody has ever experienced anything odd around the base of Rainbow Wall or on the approach? I just returned from Red Rocks, and a climber told me about a couple of odd occurences that he had up there. In one, they saw a number of hikers in 80's attire (this was in the last few years). They called out to them, but they just kept on moving as if they didn't see or hear them. His friend commented that he thought they might be ghosts. Then, on another trip he and his partner bivied at the base of the wall. They left their food tied up in a bag about 5 feet from them. In the morning somebody had removed all but one of their bagels and put their bag back, but it was tied in a totally different way. Nobody else was up at the base of the wall that night and they never heard anything! My buddy's partner confirmed the story. They had counted all their bagels and knew exactly how many they each had for the climb.

Anybody else ever have a strange experience up that way?

You were visited by the spirits of Moshe and Evelyn - now that they have the bagels - you will need to bring them gifts of lox and cream cheese - only then will you be set free.

From the pitiless slabs of the Nordwand
Where the bivouac sites are few
The ghosts of the hosts of old masters
Are calling this warning to you.

"Live it up, fill your cup, drown your sorrows
And sow your wild oats while ye may
For the toothless old tykes of tomorrow
Were the tigers of yesterday"
