I googled for Wren Industries but nothing turned up except for secondhand retailers.
Is Wren no longer making self-belay devices?
Wren: Please start making Silent Partners again. I want to buy one.
And while you're at it, start R&D on a "Silent Girlfriend", as I'm in the market for one of those too.

They have two of these in stock at Mountainworks in Utah. They don't have a website, but you can call them and they will ship you one with no tax and free shipping. Their phone number is 1-801-371-0223 and they are open until 9pm MST.

Silent Partner - still in stock at some retailers for $235 - 243:

So Wren or Rocke don't need to start making them again just yet; you can already buy one.
Personally, I recommend a real partner.

I also have a Silent Partner which I have actually never used. I got it for $152 on ebay a few years ago. I knew it was only in limited production, so I figured that was my chance, and I might want to use one someday.

Rock Exotica now makes these and I've set up a dealer account through my shop. I got one a few weeks ago and have been falling all over it in the gym, works perfectly so far with a 9.4 Petzl rope.
If anyone in the midwest wants one or has any questions about it give us a call.

I wasn't that impressed with the performance of the Silent Partner, I prefer a modified Gri-Gri.

If you are AID soloing, an unmodified right-off-the-shelf Grigri will do you just fine.
But no matter what device you use, ALWAYS TIE A BACKUP KNOT!

As for the Silent Girlfriend, a hillbilly joke.
Two hillbillies were sitting in their rocking chairs in the evening sun, taking it easy.
#1: "I've decided to divorce my wife."
#2: "How come?"
#1: "She hasn't spoken to me for over a year."
#2: "You should reconsider. Good women like that are hard to find."

Prod. I don't have a website for gear. Give me a ring at 608.244.8100.
Someone told me they don't work as well in cold weather?
I haven't been using a back up system in the gym, but I'm going to figure something out for outside. I've been trying to make it fail.....works perfectly so far.

A mint one just went through ebay for $175 (sold while I was typing). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230326929288&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123
mountain gear claims to have stock:

Cold operation:
The manual warns against below freezing operation due to ice screwing up the clove hitch action. Someone else posted about getting frozen moisture inside messing stuff up.
I had one get goofy in the mid 30's at Jtree (above freezing, but cold). It would not lock up with the thumb spin, or yarding rope through it repeatedly. After much futzing it sort of sputtered back to life, occasionally locking, then eventually locking every time with a thumb spin. Behavior was reproduced in the freezer when left in certain orientations over night (bad grease?). I sent it in for repair and all they found was a bit of grit on a seal. Whatever they did fixed the problem, as I could no longer get it to act goofy in the freezer. I sold it off and stuck with the gri-gri. YMMV.
