Bump, in sympathy.
BTW I have no political angst, just pissed off that there is no candidate I can truly believe in (of the two main parties).
I say TWO PARTIES, but perhaps Noam Chomsky (gasp, some of you may say) is correct in saying that it is one party in the US, the BUSINESS Party, with two wings, right and left, or better put, Democrat and Republican.
I believe in the free market but the crap that has been going on lately could only be described as pure greed.

If you are going to start on off-topic political thread during election season (which I don't mind, just sayin) then if it's worth a whole new thread, you should have a point or more than a cryptic sentence or two to contribute.
It's not that I don't love ya. Just trying to stay honest to myself and the rest of the forum

I like Noam, he's a brilliant mind, and he is exactly correct with that statement. We live in a "Corporatacy".

Fatty, havn't you recieved this weeks orders from your party? "Socialist, spreading the wealth was last weeks marketing ploy". Joe the plumber was the week before that. Obama hangs out with terrorists was three weeks ago.
Maybe if your party can actually come up with a plan we can all get our arms around, they might have a fighting chance.

Being an old-time Republican I, like Jeff, think " spreading the wealth" is a poor idea. But I think Obama did not mean that so much as he meant to oppose Reagan's concept of sending my money to already wealthy people so that their table scraps might hopefully "trickle down" to me.
And being an old-time Republican I think people should pay for that which they receive. Our grand children should not have their (probably minimum wage) earnings taxed so that today's corporations can be bailed out when their profit making schemes make an "error." An error that was readily apparent and never should have been allowed.
Angst is something that robs us of our reason. You have to fight against it. Right now I am fighting hard against the concept that people even consider "throwing their vote away". Were I to have the choice between voting for Satan or a new-age republican i would count myself lucky to have even that choice. I would vote new-age republican and then I would make it my business to make future choices more to my liking.
