Its Thursday night and Im bummed , no plans to party this weekend. It would be hard to beat last Friday.
Yosemite...... shock and awe
YCA .........brainchild of Ken Yager
Ansel Adams Gallery........... historic vision
Ansel Adams Gallery Girls...........hot
All the Artists who donated Art.........awesome
Lost Arrow Catering............good taste
Shannon and the Yosar Flowers...............bright colourful and beautiful
Jingy ..........there
It was the YCA's 4th annual art auction on the 17th, I had just spent 10 days in September for the Facelift and it was hard to
justify another 4 days in the Valley but it was an art auction and if you have never been to one , go.
Everyone pulled together to make it very special .
The weather was great all day and it wouldn't be a trip to the Valley without a stop at the bridge to shoot the shite with Tom
(elcap pics), as always he was in rare form with his phallic scope and technical bag of sand for a balance.
A hike to the base of the nose and hanging in the meadow was enough exercise for me for the day. I had to rest up for what
was a very memorable evening, but i don't remember much.
After the hiking it was time to climb. So off to the Ahwanhee for tea and a bite to eat. We were giddy with what the evening
had to offer and for some reason climbed the pillars at the Ahwanhee 5.8 at least ,but we didn't top out.
The Auction started at 5 and went to about 7 after that there was a raffle.
The place was packed and it was inspiring. Great art at great deals and everyone was just so happy. Its really hard to explain
but you'll just have to make plans next year to understand what im getting at. No politics , no religion, just art , artists and
women and wine..
I had a chance to chat with Moosie and Karl , saw his book. very nice work and tight .
I am not at liberty to give you the details of the late night after-party in the " Tiny Banking District " , but it was Epic.
The next morning all hung-over at the food court I was lucky enough to run into WBRAUN .. some coffee and a few smokes
outside and i was caught up on the old and the new of the life that is under the rock.
Damn... what the hell am i doing this weekend.

FF contacted me to see if I was interested in volunteering my time to the YCA? "Hey, I'm bringing a Rowell to sell at the auction adn would be helping out, you in?"
It was yet another opportunity to spend some time in my favorite place Yosemite.
When I first got there I headed to Curry parking lot, as this was the last VM I had heard from FF "Curry Tent cabins, 601... That's 601. Got that Jingy? Meet me there and we'll head over to the gallery."
I found the Candyman and we headed to the Gallery. Once there, we asked for Ken and we were shuffled to the employee quarters behind the Gallery where we met Ken, Kate and Sarah. Kate and Sarah both caught my attention as they are beautiful. Per my usual MO, I immediately went ga-ga over these two....But I'm not going to air all that here...
We headed to the gallery to hang the pictures. For me, some of my time was spent standing not knowing what to do. Sarah finally broke my silence and told me "..take down these screws, and hang these prints here"
That was just what I needed.
The next couple of days we were to help out in selling tickets for the raffle in relief of Stephanie(?). And hanging out at the Art Gallery with the wonderful staff, was a real treat.
BTW: Is there a box on the application to work in the Art Gallery for Beautiful? Yes No I contend that there is, because that all are! Even that one that wearing someone else's name tag!

Rob,
It was great to hang out with you and Gregg. Thanks for all your help. Please look me up next time you are in the area. It would be fun to hang out without the distraction of an event.

"I'm bringing a Rowell to sell at the auction "
That Rowell was graciously donated by the Mountain Light Gallery.
I just transported it.
I did donate a few pieces of art for the auction and i was surprised to see one go for around $250.
All the artist who donated were very generous for a good cause. Karl and Jody from here both donated as well as Glen Denny and Chris Faulkenstein who is currently the web guru at the YCA. Chris printed some of his images on metalic or silver paper which really had a nice effect in the light. So many others donated also.
Damn , this weekend sure paled in comparison to that event.
Im seriously thinking about going to the nose reunion if the pass remains open.
Hey Jingy... You in. Maybe this time youll remember your sleeping bag instead of relying on me to have an extra.
