I would rather have this than a D-300!

I was watching 2 Bald Eagles when a guy came up and took some pictures of them. They were prob 30-50 yards away. You could see details in the eyes. No tripod. Just rested his hand on a fence.

The 80-400 vr is a very nice lens for wildlife.

Oops. Sorry. VR 70-200

http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Camera-Lenses/2139/AF-S-VR-Zoom-NIKKOR-70-200mm-f/2.8G-IF-ED.html

He said he got it for about 1700.

He also had 1.4 (?) magnifier between it and the body.

Kind of cool watching two bald eagles in a tree a few hundred feet from 6 lanes of traffic.

Blinny, I already have a D-80.

Yeah TIG, that's a sweet set up (haven't tried itl, but have used the 80-400) quite a lot.

But I bet that set up ain't cheap!

Blinny. yupper. in a heartbeat.

Of course, with what I have lost in the last 8 weeks...

I am hoping I was wrong about Santa.

:-)

I was trying for a picture with cell phone LOLOLOLOLOL

You can make out that two black blobs with white tails are in a tree.

That is what clued in the other guy driving by to stop.
