well, is obama's "truth squad" going to monitor ads supporting obama, too?
you're not troubled by a "truth squad" formed by a campaign and using government law enforcement officials (from sheriff deputies all the way up state attorneys) to determine what can and cannot be aired in an election ad? dude, that's the definition of nazi tactics

oh yeah, and let's not forget about this from a speech obama gave in colorad springs july 2,, 2008: "“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

ummm..."elected officials"; we're not talking about 527s or campaign volunteers or independent bloggers...these are people in the obama campaign working with state officials (in south carolina, too) to target the "mccain campaign"...not, repeat NOT, campaign ads in general...
honestly, warbler, how would you react if you knew "elected officials" were working with mccain campaign staff to target obama campaign ads? the officials we're talking about have the power to prosecute...of course, this is a first amendment issue, but just the threat of prosecution can hinder free speech

Geez BW...for someone who has no qualms about the Patriot Act and losing Habeus Corpus, I find it hard to believe you have an issue with this. If the people running the ads are telling the "TRUTH", then they don't have anything to worry about now do they?? Get a life!
