Wild caught Canadian Walleye fillets at $12.99 to the pound.

It may be about time to invade.

I had my locks broken and my credit cards taken out of my wallet along the Highway in Squamish. I thought this was about that sort of thing.

Walleye, snaileye, what's REALLY a rip is that when you visit (with long guns only, thank you very much) they limit you to 200 rounds and you have to buy the rest there.

Not exactly robbery; more like extortion.

" ...been 41 for me... "

That's not about guns and ammo. That's because the sin taxes up there have driven the price of a 12 pack up to about $30.00.

A bottle of whiskey? $50. And that's the cheap stuff...

had my truck broken into and someone stole a headlamp. I had a construction lockbox in the back that was bolted through the truck bed luckily.

A six pack of good quality bottled beer in Vancouver is about $12, including $0.60 (ten cents/bottle) return deposit, which you get back. $25 max for a twelve pack. $20 for swill.

I'm curious as to what Ron was going to shoot on his climbing trip, or why he'd need a hand gun.

Don't they even hide the stores that sell al kee haul. We had serious jazz just finding the government "grey block" store that was only open from 11-3 every other day and NOT on weekends.

I am exaggerating..but not much.

Paid $17 CA for a six-pack of Molson tallboys in Squamish. Ouch. Wine was only a couple bucks more per bottle than sin-tax laden Utah.

You are allowed to bring a case of beer from the US into Canada, I would also attempt to bring all food/supplies and a full tank of gas. But everybody knows this...right?

Vehicle theft on the sea-to-ski highway was noted.

Canadians are utterly mystified by the whole "Canadian bacon" thing. You can buy bacon of all types here. It's much the same as the bacon that can be bought down south. You choose to make a big deal about "Canadian bacon" - advertising, labels, even a route at Vantage. We have no idea why.

Canadian mounties? Check. Canadian maple syrup? Check. (New England too, though it's half Quebecois anyway.) Canadian hockey? Check. Canadian bacon? Never heard of it.

Sorry Ron - I thought you'd mentioned something about a hand gun.

I can get a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, hoppy and gorgeous and unlike any Canadian "beer," down the street here in Monrovia California for 13.00 US plus the bottle return. And you are braggin' about $20 for a 12 pack of swill?? I don't drink swill so I can't argue that one.

Cheers ..
