Is it true that nice guys finish last? Is the Presidential election a contest to who the most successful liar is? Does Obama have too many scruples?

And what does it say about a McCain presidency?

These aren't distortions, hyperbole, or exaggerations. These are outright lies.

I can't remember a campaign that unflinchingly put out such stuff.

McCain is running a dirtier campaign than Bush did.

Why are McCain and Palin fixated on having with idea of having sex with kindergarteners. Sick, sick, sick!

Yep, the perception of the person being tortured or bombed is much different then the perception of the person doing the torturing or the bombing.

Skipt, nice dodge, but it doesn't address the lies by McPain.

BTW, Palin did try to ban books and Obama's campaign said Palin's kids were off-limits.

Dirtbag, she did not try to ban any books. Quit believing everything you read on the Daily KOS or all the bogus DNC emails you get. Even the Huffington Post (I'm sure another source for your rhetoric)has said she didn't. There were several books on the so-called list of books she supposedly wanted to ban that weren't even written at the time. Grab a straw.

Enough with the lipstick on a pig nonsense. McCain referred to Hilary's policies that way. He didn't mean it persoanlly about Hilary any more than Obama did about Palin. And if Hilary had said anything, the GOP would have called her overly-sensitive. Is that how you think of Palin?

However, aside from miscellaneous internet slander, the non-partisan fact-checking seem to see more issues with what the McCain campaign is saying, and also that Obama's campaign is correcting things more quickly.

Pretty sad, given how badly McCain got screwed by this crap in 2000. So much for the "straight talk express". Now it's more like the Rove Express.

Skip,

The more people learn about Palin the less they're going to like her. Better to keep her covered up, then, and out of any situation where she might open her mouth and say something stupid. Oops, too late for that...even when Mr. Gibson interviewed with soft questions, she showed inability to grasp the important issues facing this country. All she can say is what her advisors (working around the clock, I presume!) tell her to say...you know, sound bites that don't mean anything and invariably evade the questions.

Oh yeah...why don't you analyze the "facts" you pull up time and time again. They're like Palin's answers - they don't mean anything and they don't really detract from Obama's character or judgement. You're trying to tell us all that we shouldn't vote for him because he is aligned with...terrorists? You're an idiot, plain and simple.

Yawn, I can't wait for November 5.

What would be earth-shattering - in a sense - if there was a Ron Paul/Cynthia McKinney ticket (these things do happen, just not in a two-party, albeit one, system like America) that actually won the White House.

Ain't gonna happen. Ever. Sadly.

Unless there is a revolution.

SKip,

Your understanding of the issues goes about as deep as Palin's does. You both think in black and white. You refuse to recognize the complexity of all issues. And you ignore all evidence to the contrary of your own misguided opinions.

McCain/Palin got a bounce alright...but it will play out too early to help in the general election. The backlash is going on right now, as McCain gets back publicity for being dishonest and dishonorable with his comments and ads. He's a poor, weak man now. His supposed good judgement is a farce, just look at his hasty decision to pick Palin (the laughing stock of the whole world!!!) as his VP hopeful.

Totally false.

Notice I never said anything about the supposed list of banned books? That much is false.

Nice straw man.

But she DID look into banning books and she DID try to have the librarian fired who told her she fight anyone who tried it.
I get my so-called "propaganda" here:

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=5766173&page=1

I realize you and your fellow kool-aid drinking Palin teet-suckers have problems telling propaganda from news.

I have to admit though, it is pretty amusing to watch the right-wing's mental gymnastics in defending her scant qualifications.

Yo, Skip:

"The local newspaper reporter who covered the controversy, Paul Stuart, claims he was later told by the librarian that Palin wanted three specific books removed from the library. "

And she did try to have the librarian fired too.

"The report quotes the librarian as responding, "I told her clearly I will fight anyone who tries to indicate what books can go on the library shelves."

The same week that Palin raised the issue she fired Baker (then using her married name Emmons) as librarian, claiming she was not "loyal" to the new administration and had supported Palin's opponent in the election. She said the dismissal was not connected to questions of censorship, and that she had dismissed all city department heads and told them they could re-apply for their jobs."

Oh, I'm sure that's just a coincidence. LOL!

It's all there too, as well as in stories found elsewhere on MSM sites, if you care to look.

You can read, right? I mean, more than just selective reading?

Hmmm...

So...

-The fact that the reporter swears the librarian said Palin inquired about banning books 12 years ago

-And, contemporary accounts support what the reporter swears

-And, her church was trying to get several books banned at the time

-And, she tried to get the librarian fired shortly after this

doesn't mean anything to you?

Instead, you seem to putting a lot of weight into the fact that the librarian either doesn't seem to remember the incident (which is unlikely since it created a pretty big stir, unless she experienced some kind of decline in memory) or more likely, wants the controversy to go away without actually getting Palin off the hook.

And you call me a liar or confused.

Too funny.

"You all have not a clue as to who John McCain is and what he represents. "

Skipt,

This is the exact point.
What the hell does this man stand for?
Is it what he states now days?
Is it what he stated back in 2000? 2004? or anywhere in between?
Or is it, as Fatty has suggested, some other "unseen" agenda /positions?

I used to have major respect for the man, but no more.
Now that he has lost all his maveric-backbone he is thus a spineless clone of the republican tool-shop, which is really sad.

You could educate us all and tell us who he is and what he represents since;
1. None of who he is or what he stands for was explained to us at/via the RNC.
2. No one can glean anything from his web site.
3. No one can glean anything from news reports.
4. None of his political commercials explain his positions.
So, please do tell.......
