Oh...My...God! Alex Honnold is the Man.

Climbing a 5.13 Offal-Width friggin' upside down. It hurt to just watch the guy.

And then he couldn't get his foot out of the jam, and ended up plunging. I've never seen anything like that...pretty amazing athlete. Really great attitude, too.

Thanks for posting this Marty--Alex is the real deal, isn't he.

Pretty cool, even if he did use the extra wall.

Jaybro - That is some seriously hot leg material that dude is wearing! How old is this picture? Now I'm thinking, if the book club gets slow, maybe ST monthly fashion takes!? Did you say you just picked up 3cups? I'm on call this weekend so at least I have ST for "recreation".

Truly, lycra at it's finest!

might clash with mint Green Mythos, though...

and oh yeah, started reading it in between all the things I'm supposed to be doing.

I posted these from the 2002 R&I calendar on one of the OW threads, but as this is route specific...Would love to witness it being done or get the gory details. Wow!

I couldn't find it online, but the footage of Eric Decaria climbing BFOBB in "Parallelojams" is something to behold. Beyond smooth and totally in control. Super inspiring. But not as much as a 50 year old with a kid doing it. (Mr. Anderson, that's your cue--post up, man!)

So why are they inverted? Isn't that chicken-wing action w/ heel-toe or foot-cam?

I dunno, outta my league....

He's inverted because the crack is an upside down arch. Belayed that feller in the pic on this climb a few times, watched him place gear upside down from a foot first bat-hang, fortunately without the lycra on...

While thoroughly impressed, this thing is just too burly for me. Love the 'thumbtack' hole in Mimi's scan! Even that classic photo doesn't do justice to how burly that thing is.

You would have to have arms like a Penguin to chicken wing that crack.

I did no inversions when I did it. Though, I can envision a way to do it like that.

Yep. I'd like to echo that sentiment.

Sort of like Big Bad Mikey climbing Pipeline. Meaningful to the workaday lot of us.

I was a 48 yr old with a kid, when I did it.
