Mr Munge, On the inside of our camper shell tailgate, we added- sliding locks on both sides. On the outside we put a extra lock-key thingee... No more brake ins. We had a SnugTop

I have a full size Packer truck box that used to go inside my campershell to lock gear in. However with a 6 1/2 foot bed, I can't sleep back there with it, so I don't use it. For a long bed, this might be an option.
I'm looking to get rid of it if anyone wants it. It's 20" wide and 52" long.

check out various worktruck/contractor shells as opposed to fiberglass camper shells. they tend to be harder to break into since worktrucks are like the motherload for a thief. here's one manufacturer's website, i'm sure there's other with similar products:

Got a snug top shell, never been broken into(knock on granite)but I've made a slight modification to stay low key. Went to the local fabric store and bought scrap fake leather material that you can't see through and made templates of the windows and cut pieces of fake leather to fit over the windows and used velcro to secure the fake leather to the aluminum window frames. If tweakers (or tules) come to peek in the windows all they see is black. Looks like the windows are a solid black, can't see anything inside. Also remember to lock yer gate on the bed. I like the lock I have on my unit, one operating mechanism and the handle locks in a recess unit. I can also lock the unit up from the inside if I'm crashing in it and want to be locked in. I did this to ALL the windows on the shell. Good luck with yer search.

SnugTop makes the best shells. But any shell can be broken into.

Mine automatically locks, so you can't forget to lock it...but I know someday I'll lock my jeys in it...
