Happy Easter Supertopo!

The Easter Bunny is dead
After 17 years of hiding baskets at the end of a trail
spreading eggs across the acre at dawn
Then waking the kidlets:
some times seeing to it that they were bundled up
& well booted for the task,
French Toast & pancakes scrambled eggs, maybe bacon
Then off to be welcomed as attendees in the first wave of the faithful(Now the disgraceful)
Spit-polished yawning, but there for the day-break mass
All that in the past
My children slept in.

ln quiet reflection, I took a walk alone at dawn
Not even the dog came along.
What a Dog, K9, trained but with weak senses of sight & smell
So perfect black was abused, ruined by a puppy mill
We rescued her from all that.
Still, suffering from one lasting training flaw;
The velcro-like attachment from service training
will only go out if my wife orders her to.
The whole family, having stayed up late
to take part in a rough & frank conversation
of the resurgent white power movement
the tragedy of what is occurring now in real time...
after watching the Spike Lee Joint "Black Klansman"

All Slept in.
I cried
After all I have given & given up
(living here in tick-infested, overtly conservative, small rock hell)
to try to add to...
to raise up good faithful believers
Not in the fake stories Not in a hope of heaven
For the Moral & Ethical Teachings Good From bad, of right & wrong
The teachings of empathy, the teachings of love
to always try to be a part in making a better world
raising up, not tearing down

my Church is in league with an undeniable evil
Its showplace burned down
It is no small irony that at the same time as that real-world configuration,
there was an inferno in this no-place.
A place I had pointed to as representational of the other thing
that I have held out as to be at least aspiring to be of a greater good.
The fact is that We have been taken, overrun by evil greedy disgusting- terrible powers
those tasked with standing up against all that evil stand silent,
So worse
the death of the Easter Bunny, Society, religious affiliations
&
that other thing
that religion too is equally be-frett with obvious hypocrisy.
I do not see the good in religions like climbing anymore

I need to explain, the sun has set here now.
An Easter like no other in my memory,
and one that coincided with Passover
A holiday that was also once of great importance
The stores here used to switch the rows of groceries.
Multi-faith services were held in local Churches & Temples
We were invited to join in the ritual meal, my children drawn out, included ...
it was a beautiful spiritual weekend that I deeply loved being a part of.

Yes, but now one must preface that what stands as the representation of the teachings
is the artifice bearing no resemblance to the true meanings of the teachings of love & humility
Of providing help & love to the needy
of always raising up
never lying with evil to achieve perceived gains/.

They gloat, they are satisfied, they see it that they are winning
not seeing or in a total disingenuous way have sold out completely in hopes of achieving a wrong-minded goal

jesus is.....not religion
