Also, if anyone has insight into day labor from NH to Cali, I’m all ears. Probably going to take 80. Have experience in carpentry, but am a good general laborer as well. Got to pay for gas and food after all.

I’m not one of those people who has good credit and can put it all on plastic. I prefer to live within my means, even if it means beeing a dirty f*#king hippie with no means.

So, any work on the I-80 corridor would be f*#king dope. Give me a shout!

Brandon! Sorry to read about your breakup. Please appreciate that many folks go through the divorce & starting over trauma.

I sold my share of my 2 money-losing Idaho outdoor stores to my partner, for my share of the net worth of the merchandise & store fixtures, less bills, when I was 34, & started a new, but similar career as an independend wholesale outdoor gear & clothing sales-rep. That went poorly for the first two years, & due to that stress & other compatability problems, my wife & I got divorced when I was 36.

I ended up with a heavily-mortgaged house in SLC, but I was living near Sun Valley, Idaho at the time. I had $2,000 a month income coming for another 3 years from my ex-business partner, plus my anemic sales-rep commission. It still sounds like a lot of money, but I was constantly traveling a 4-state territory & incurring lots of travel expenses.

I moved into a condo in Ketchum, Idaho, worked Dec. & Jan. in a local outdoor shop & kept my sales rep career, until I finally achieved "break-even" in commission vs expenses, at age 39, which was also when I met Heidi & soon remarried.

I remember my stress-levels being very-high for those years.

Best wishes for an easier transition for you.

You mentioned family in Colorado. Our economy is booming and has a terrible labor shortage, especially in construction. Just turn left off I-80 when you get to Wyoming.

That's a hell of a hit. It's tough being accused of something your not. People have different perceptions of realities w/o there ever being a chance of resolution. Unfortunately, that is just the way it is, sounds trite/cliche but it's happened to me too. Take care of yourself.

Just thinking about how it all went down last night makes me cry relentlessly. I’m pissed off as well.

Check craigslist a few cities ahead of you decide to travel, people post help wanted stuff on there when they need a floor laid in a bathroom or a fence fixed or whatever, I used that in college and in between full time jobs.

Hopefully a lot of time to think helps you sort things out and not focus on regret.

All the best, if you make it to central CA and need a layover spot for a shower and a bed while you plan what’s next please let me know.

And yet, ironically, "At either end of the social spectrum there lies a leisure class," or so said Eric Beck.
"Plan better next time," Bridwell might say.

Best wishes for future happiness, brother Brandon.

You’re in a lot of hearts Brandon,

If you get out Moab way give a holler.

I don’t have any advice since everyone’s path is unique. I would just add that I do believe the “universal” need for all of us to journey forward is to stay as healthy as possible. Without that things really are horribly ugly.

I do hope that each day you can find increasing moments of peacefulness and serenity.

The only suggestion I have "Don't drink. No matter what."

Yes, its an AA thing, but really, right now has to be about sobriety. Drinking will only make things worse.

Good luck, Brandon.

Good luck Brandon. Consider going sans dog, it will just complicate your vagabond ways. Anybody who can drive a nail straight can make good bucks in Denver/Boulder these days...fabulous, as I’m sure you know, climbing near by and the distaff set isn’t hard on the eyes.

its times like this a trip to india helps. puts some water under your bridge, opens your eyes when the nerves are tingling, cheap, makes you think. then even if you come back and lapse into bitter despair, you known youve got something to measure it by.

Keep looking up Brandon.

This bump in the road takes a little time,I know from recent experience.

If you have problems finding work in the front range ,don’t hesitate to get a hold of me ,I have a couple of good friends that could always put a good carpenter to work.

Stay strong and take care. Wilbeer

hey there say, Brandon_

thanks for sharinga an update...

sounds like you got a blueprint, for starters...

so many of us, have had to start over...
and some-- like me, at a much later age, in life...

so many, as well, that NEVER thought there would be
new life, or, hope:

have actually 'come out into the meadow' through awful trails,
and found 'something better' ...
and for those that had no hope-- well, they found something
that new dreams could be built upon:

a new space in time...

none of it is easy... it is a step at a time...
look at each step, and not the harshness of the past, nor, the
pressures of 'unknown' future...

it will keep you from being depressed...

look to the day, each day, doing your best, and when
depression seems to be knocking-- find those that you can
talk too, here, by phone, by those around you...
just work through it...

prayers and best wishes...
and, will sure pray extra hard, as to the house getting rented...
you could, of course, really use that, along the way...

hope some of these leads, help, too...
