A Falcon 9 rocket was launched this evening from Vandenberg Air Force Base. The rocket is carrying SAOCOM 1A, a radar observation satellite for Argentina.

We just saw the same kind of thing in the night skies driving just outside Merced!
We were gonna stop and take some video, like everyone else was doing, but we were late picking up our chicken wings.
It was actually quite a quandary for us - we were like videotape alien Invasion? Pickup Chicken wings? Videotape Alien invasion? Pick up chicken wings?
We ended up going with the chicken wings, but hopefully someone else got some good video.

Glad to see some people got some decent footage! We were camped outside Kramer Junction with no idea this was about to happen and watched it for minutes. It was really mind-blowing from that vantage with minimal light pollution - reds, greens, white swirls. BEAUTIFUL! Thoughts of Armageddon crossed my mind but a few minutes in I guessed accurately what it was we were watching.

The best story of this is my neighbor knocked on my door. I opened it and said
“Izzit the Space X?”
We run out front and his retarded wife is there ALL FREAKED OUT! Bear in mind she prays
about 14 hours a day. I mean she prays that the garbage man doesn’t forget their trash.
“How do you know it’s a rocket?”
You can’t make this sh!t up, folks!
