After being left for dead by a hit and run driver 43 years ago on my ten speed bicycle and living with the results of a broken back and a damaged face I recently decided to pick up the pieces of my life and rebuild it. So I made the decision to get surgery on the side of my face most impacted, especially around the eye and temple.
I've been holding on to so many things from the wreck and now I am free and I can let it go and transcend and continue on with the process of my new life and living.

Dave, Your strength of character, clarity of purpose and, need I say, purity of mind, have done you well... Your focus will guide; the eyes in the forest are your friends.

As my physical therapist used to always tell me about where I was in my process of “recovery”, you’re 100% of where you’re at today.
That’s not a bad place to start. Best wishes moving forward.

Sharing a Lakota healing prayer. Give yourself whatever gifts of time and rest you need to heal.
Our Father, the Sky, hear us and make us strong.
Our Mother, the Earth, hear us and give support.
Spirit of the East, send us your Wisdom.
Spirit of the South, may we tread your path of life.
Spirit of the West, may we always be ready for the long journey.
Spirit of the North, purify us with your cleansing winds.

Dave, your spirit far outshines any of your physical elements.
Great to see you, and resolutions of past angst always brings growth.
Funny I never even noticed.

A brave and wise choice, Dave, the benefit of which spreads out away from you as you chose to share this with us. My humble thanks for your sharing, and my support across the miles as you journey forward.
Most outstanding!
Respect!

You won't be sorry you did this. Your only regret will be that you didn't do it sooner. And you'll get good drugs. Controlling the pain and not being too stoical about it, will really speed the healing.
