Here in Boulder it is tube to work day. So I brought my tube to work, but apperently others took their tube down to the creek.

Its been ages since I tubed down that little creek in Boulder. I couldn't even tell you what its called. This would have been over 40 years ago. We had friends/business partners in boulder. It certainly didn't require a helmet, so perhaps not the same creek you are going to tube.

Hmm, as for what the creek is called, if you had to take one guess, what would it be? Not a trick question.
As for requiring a helmet, maybe that depends on where you are and what the water is doing. There have definitely been fatalities in the "little creek," and I'm sure there will be more. (Not sure if helmet is likely to prevent them; not a tuber.)

we were on low water on a tiny creek which went through the city/town. This was close to 50 years ago or so. We were just kids. No adults supervising. The adults dropped us off and picked us up a few miles later. Or at least it seemed like miles. I was probably around 10 years old.

In 1991 I was working at the Colorado River bars on the Parker Strip. One bar (Sundance) was just across the river and downstream a bit from where I was staying.

Most days to get to work I would simply swim across the river. Backstroke, so I could watch for boat traffic.

I had to hitch a boat ride to get back, though, because I'm not stout enough to swim against the current on the mighty Colorado.

Fun times!

The helmet was “required” to participate but I missed most of it anyway so it did not matter. But my office let me go so I took a run. I believe it is just boulder creek through town with south boulder creek coming out of Eldo and meeting up some where in town with the main fork. They have made kayak features right where the creek comes into town at the edge of boulder Canyon that have numerous small waterfalls with big pools below each. Quite fun actually and the people watching is always interesting down there.
