While waiting for my friend to arrive last Tuesday, May 15, I started climbing with a young guy that was in town for a job interview and had previously spent time in the area while helping build the new Reno climbing gym. Then yesterday, while climbing at Black Wall on Donner, a couple pieces of gear mysteriously appeared in my friends gear. I believe they are likely the kid's we were climbing with at River Rock as they resemble the rack he was climbing with, but they may be from someone yesterday at Black Wall as there were MANY folks there and a lot of gear strewn about.
Either way, my friend and I would love to return the gear to it's owner, so if you think it is yours, describe the gear and if it is a match, we will get it back to you.
Otherwise, it is in very good hands now and will be well be well used in the future...

man, can't keep your gear together? months later finding random gear on your rack. Gear "strewn" around the base? unattended?? Your a climber, be a craftsmen. Keep your tools organized and in good repair. Rerack your gear after every climb. Put the stuff your not using back in your pack. When you get home take everything out of your pack and check it out. This is when you find out what your missing, and what you "gained". Call your partner and arrange to get your gear back ASAP. The longer you wait.....Also if you borrow gear try to return it with the same enthusiasm that you borrowed it with.

I agree that it is best to keep track of your gear.
I thought Supertopo was the only forum to be and am blissfully unaware of the other climbing sights that might be good to post or search on. Any real help on the situation will be appreciated.
