Pretty good all over W-MT and probably better in the park. No cars yet so you can Trailer-Bob your skis/boots in. This is the perfect time of year and grizzlies are awake and ready to party!

Melting fast in the Canadian Rockies, but there are turns to be had, and the crevasses are still well-bridged on the Athabasca Glacier. Photo uploads seem broken at the moment, but here's a trip report: http://www.drdirtbag.com/2018/05/13/snow-dome/

Still hanging on to being 'worth it' in the Sierra. I got out in a new zone with a Mammoth Lakes local friend this past Saturday (5/12) and had a great time, minus the infinite talus and snow so rotten down low we were postholing with skis on!
We turned around about 400' shy of topping out the Couloir on Thompson, due to very firm snow that was likely going to be unskiable. Would've been nice to just leave our gear and crampon/axe up for the views and then walk back down to our skis, but we just called it.
hoping for one or two more weekends before everything is suncupped. Would love to visit one more objective before its over. Sorry for so much ski talk on ST, but thought you guys would enjoy the photos.

Still decent skiing conditions above 9000' in the northern CA Sierra, depending on overnight temps. Cloud cover and intermittent (snow) showers are interrupting the corn/melt cycle this week. Firm rain crust from a month ago is keeping things relatively together.

Yinzer!
No apology necessary: we love any kind of mountain activity reportage here!
It's been a while since I've seen pictures of Mount Gilbert. Nice!
Hey mike m: your best bet for skiing report in RMNP is Rick Accomazzo.
Sure, I'm close, but mostly a house cat these days ...

On the way to the Bridwell memorial and stopped last Friday for a quick ride in a valley near Sonora Pass. Still a lot of snow and pretty firm due to cloud cover.
That’s Raker in the photo.
Have’t been up to the park in several weeks.
