We are a company born out of love for the mountains. We moved here 22 years ago to enjoy the Sierra and building became a means to realize that life. We have built some of the most notable sustainable projects in our area. Right now we have an abundance of finish work starting up and we are looking for 2-3 finish/lead carpenters in South Lake Tahoe. We are happy to pay well for solid, dependable, productive people. We respect powder days and do our best to accommodate time to get out and pursue one's recreational goals. In return we expect top notch work and positive attitude toward work that is sometimes less than pleasant. There is potential for these positions to be full time and long term. Feel free to email sierrasustainable@gmail.com and respond to this thread.

If I was still working as a carpenter I would be all over this. An opportunity to have a good job in the Sierra is hard to pass up

That's right, they think they are studs with a crown.

. . . and we know what carpenters do with crowned studs

worked circles around the beaners. That statement might just be a little bit racist. Are you sure that is what you intended to say?

So what about a 40 year master roof framer ,trim and remodeling expert with a record of lateness and outright disdain of work altogether on a bluebird day.
Propensity to happy hours a given ,and do they have to live in a van?
Asking for a friend.

I've certainly been here long enough to enjoy the humor on this thread. However, times are changing in South Lake and we are doing our part to contribute positively. Here are some photos of a current project in Al Tahoe area. This project exemplifies excellent building quality and practices, with efficiency and building science as a core priority.

Second one up looks like the start of a bouldering cave.....save for the glass panel to crash through at the end. Not OSHA, that, for a boldering cave....!

Looks like fun framing! I like how your gaping your siding. I do that down here in the desert and it's HUGE! I also run pex back and forth in the gap on the SF walls and it'll heat the water above 80' in the winter, and in the summer I turn the WH off😉

Wondered about the overhangs too. My house, an early 60's modernist flat roof or low angle, has very little overhang maybe 3 inches. My Dad, the architect always lamented later on that the drawback was the beating given to the siding. He didn't want to lose the light but the siding just gets hammered.

Is there a gutter system built in? or will it be added later? (and ruin the aesthetics) Otherwise, water will run down the sides of the structure and be troublesome for windows and foundation.
