of all the narcissistic garbage I've seen on the web, well, your performance the past few days takes the blue-ribbon

so here's a place for you to share your sacrifices and myriad accomplishments

so smart and prescient, and a surgeon too!

Tut is one of the better posters on this site. he certainly chose the wrong place to express those thoughts and the wrong place to argue over it.

Tut has been forthright in using a gold plated corpse as a handle. ;)

He adds color to the forum.

I actually do appreciate his presence here.
His posts are usually intelligent, well- expressed and well-thought out. He speaks from his own experience.
Yes, he has strong opinions, as do many people here.
Yes, he does not like to give up when people do not agree with him, but other people here are like that too. That back and forth argument seems to have entertainment value for a lot of people in some threads, and is upsetting to people in others.

This Forum is both reality-TV/entertainment/train wreck bystander-gawking fascination and actual climbing information. Probably mostly the former. If the Forum was made up only of people like me who don't post much and then usually give one post per thread, you would all be bored out of your minds.

Best wishes to Tut.

I really wish that these folks with kids would make the choice to work on upping their difficulty on well protected routes with low objective hazards. Not foolproof but gives them a real chance to both get stronger and live long enough to go climbing with their kids. I have a friend who just posted a bunch of super cool stuff on facebook climbing red rocks and st George Utah area for two weeks with his wife and two teenagers (boy and girl) cranking 10s,11s and 12s. How freaking cool is that! A. Its a sh#t ton more cool than getting chopped on a winter FA in Alaska when your kid is 2 yrs old.

I have actually never gotten over that passage in the bible. I remember hearing that sh#t in bible class and being terrified. Now I simply look at it and feel that if god really did that sh#t he is a supreme as#@&%e.

I hadn't read that until I went to look it up just now (Genesis 22:10-12):
And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
Old Testament God was a nasty creation. In comparison, Machiavelli was a softie:
This gives rise to an argument: whether it is better to be loved than feared, or the opposite. The answer is that one would like to be both, but since it is difficult to combine the two it is much safer to be feared than loved,

How do you know someone is a surgeon?
They’ll let you know. Probably twice a day.
