Beautiful day out there! Most people I've ever seen, though. Quite a variety of "types". Thought about going out to the wonderlands but hung out with the crazies, instead. haha

It's fine, just a little whipper if the follower pops at the crux. bahaha

BTW, that's nothing compared to what I witnessed at Headstone. Mind boggling how completely unprepared to be on ropes these people were. Father of two young kids took a screamer on SW Corner, daughter had to catch him. He then quickly gives up the lead to the daughter who takes off to go past his two clips but has no gear for the remaining clips or for the anchor. :O

Is that a Porta pole?

Toe-Jam Death-Swing is worthless without follower fvck-up video.

JTM,
After a few people walked over there and let the second and the leader know that they were setting themselves up for a dangerous situation, he attempted to fix it. Here’s a pic of how he started.

Was in the Hall of Horrors Friday. The place was packed, but no one on routes. Saw lots of people sitting on pads smoking and talking. i noticed none of the pads were in the least bit dirty and no one had chalk residue on their hands. Lots of man buns, capris, bare feet, and girls in yoga bottoms. It was nice to climb and not have anyone around. Oh yeah did see another climber, Jim Dover doing routes. Is Josh just a hang out on the weekends now.
Peace

Out greatest fear is that climbing or the appearance of climbing is becoming trendy.

Laughing so hard right now at the Toe Jam photo. I took a newbie out ~3 years ago and let him lead it. When I got up there I encountered the exact same thing, f*#king 1 piece of pro at the bottom of that crack and I was being belayed from that fixed anchor on American death triangle. Good memories.

I see a new route there, 'Get your Toe out of the Cabbage' 5.6 C1 PG-13. This route is for the follower only! Sorry leaders. Climb Toe Jam 90% of the way up, to the crux, but instead of topping out, swing over to Bearded Cabbage and top out on that crack, it's way easier.

Lol
Yeah I was there this past weekend too, saw some....stuff. not GUD.
First climbing trip to Josh was in 2003, place has changed a lot since then.

And what's all these rodent droppings I'm seeing everywhere! Rat? Squirrel?
I don't remember seeing that much sh#t around. Seeing more quick links on bolts too, bailing? Or perma links for the short folk?

And BIG THANK YOU to all the locals doing good, NPS Rangers, restaurants in town, etc. Doing a great job down there dealing with the increase in visitors.
Will always be a special place because of YOU! Oh and the ASCA & Access Fund thank you!
