My wife and I haven't smoked for more than 25 years, so decided, since it's legal in Washington, to give it a try. Went down to the local smoke shop, Slowburn, and bought some goods. Saturday afternoon we lit up, not knowing what to expect. Sad truth is it was no fun; we both didn't like the feeling of lack of control, and we just didn't get into it. I don't think we'll try again. We were actually disappointed, as we had good memories of being stoned and being amazingly insightful and witty. Are we just too old?

Please note this topic does mention 'stone', which is sort of like rock, so this could be construed as climbing related. But it's not.

When high, were you still able to distinguish physician from physicist? or astrologer from astronomer? if so no worries! Don't be so hard on yourselves...

sometimes you just get used to sobriety and being stoned just seems like a waste of time.

Yeah HFCS, knew a physician from a PhD. Just didn't enjoy it, despite Great Expectations (Mr. Dickens, by the way) and was disappointed the old rush didn't happen.

^ "day smoke" could be the problem... possibly the OP selected a sativa, which I find too rushy/heady even for my seasoned self. If there's a next time, I'd say try a high-grade pure indica strain and vape a single hit...

I agree about the CBD thing, but still stand by the indica suggestion. The ideal option would be high CBD/low THC flower *and* a high THC indica- then mix the two as desired. And still vape if possible.

I tried almost everything that floated thru Camp 4 in the 70's. Never liked pot....not the comatose inducing stuff back then or the high octane version today.

Winemaker,

Good on ya for giving it a go . . . there is a reason you have not smoked in 25 years, it simply was not your thing to begin with. You have rediscovered why you don't smoke ganja . . . stick with your fermented beverages and call it good. Different strokes for different folks, please do not dis on jah herb.

Pretty much the same for me Steve. Went from heavy user back in the old days (in BC, where there was really good pot), to giving it up. Like you, I thought I'd give it a try now that it's legal in WA, where I live.

Result? Nada. Maybe I didn't get the right stuff, but nothing I've tried here and now holds a candle to what we had...

When you get stupid on pot, your the first person to know you're stupid.
When you get stupid on wine, your the last person to know you're stupid.

Microdosing LSD is supposed to be an eye opener for focus and thinking outside the box...
as opposed to macrodosing back in the day and opening the "doors of perception".

Actually, Senor Braun, I never used to grow the sh#t back in the day. Didn't have a basement grow room and didn't produce enormous buds that would knock your sox off. I don't say this because the statute of limitations is in effect and it doesn't matter. Just don't like it now is my perspective.

Edited to add some negatives to the narrative.
