I heard they ran big but I found the sizing to be the same as all my other Sportivas.

Thanks Mayor. What size is your street/running shoe versus your sportivas? I can't remember what size my mythos are.

Lived in Billings back in 2005 while working on a project at the Conoco Phillips refinery. Good times. Hard to believe that was 12 years ago...

umm, why don't you just try them on and see for yourself?
I suppose people who live very far from brick and mortar retailers may need to mail order, but that doesn't sound like your situation.

Actually, that is the problem. Apparently it is hard for brick and mortar shops to keep them in stock. I even went to the local REI (GASP!)
and checked REI's website - not in stock. The only place I have found to get them is online, which I hate to do. I have a voice mail in to La Sportiva and will call again and email them in the AM to see what they have to say.

Worse come to worst I'll order several sizes and return the ones that don't fit, but I'd at least like to get in the ballpark. From various reviews they seem to run 1-2 sizes off the normal La Sportive fit; The Mayor's post kind of threw that a curve. Not too many places to buy climbing gear in the flatlands of DFW.

US 9.5, EU 43 and in the Skwama I'm a 41. What size LS Mythos is do you wear? For comparison, I'm a 39.5 and if I wanted them sized for hard face might go down to a 39.

The Skwama are great shoes enjoy

OK, sorry, I made an assumption.
But:
"I like my climbing shoes snug but not tight as I don't climb hard routes that require a super aggressive fit."

Since you're not really going for peak performance, I still think you would be better served by trying on a shoe (even if it's not the Skwama) and getting a fit you like rather than guessing what size would be right from whatever people say on the Internet.

It doesn't sound like you're going for any extreme performeance--why don't you just get a comfortable shoe from whatever bricks and mortar retailer you have access to?

I ended up ordering 40 & 40.5. My trail runners are 8.5 to 9.0. Guess my forefoot has flattened out; it took some work to get the 40.5s on and are tighter in the toes than I like. I wrote earlier, painfully tight shoes are not my thing; I can't walk in these 40.5s.

I will probably end up with the 41s even considering future stretch. Nice shoe though.

edit: and blahblah may be right; thinking about something less aggresive (loved my old Fires more than any other shoe and managed to get up some spicy routes but that was for mainly faces and slabbos).
