Any of you there? I just heard from a Yosemite crew that the power is out in the Valley. I know we have a fire thread going but this Fire in Mariposa is HUGE and supposed to hit town around 8 or 9 tonite. In the meantime its busted out and headed north too. Another Rim Fire.... ??

We are in Carson Valley and last night at 1pm the smoke and smell woke me up.
Truckee, Mariposa? CA has declared a state of emergency. Prayers and a shout out to friends in Mariposa and Truckee. News says power and water out and evacuation for Mariposa eminent. Smoke from M. going into Idaho. Wow! If you need help, call.

Power was out yesterday but was restored at midnight last night .....

Is the smoke really as bad as it looks in the El Cap cam? The other webcams don't look nearly as bad.

I was in the Valley yesterday and it was worse than the cam shot. Couldn't see Half Dome from tunnel view. Things seem a bit better today in Oakhurst.

I live off 120 between Groveland and Yosemite. Smoke clears out over night and gets heavy in the afternoon with the onshore winds.

Ive heard from firefighter friends in SEKI that the organic loads on the ground in Yosemite are out of control. One day its a gonna pop like Yellowstone.
