Going through the shed today, trying to get rid of some stuff. God, it's not an easy process! Anyway, I seem to have a bunch of old Dolt keyhole hangers (not the stainless ones)...by "bunch", maybe 50 or so? Does anyone know if these are worth anything, or should I just give them away/leave them in a free box?
Thanks for the advice!

Send them to Ken Yeager for the museum.

Put 'em on ebay in lots of 10 or so. There is a fair amount of interest in original Dolt gear.

Pam- They are worth a lot of money so sell them one at time on ebay. Write me if you need any more information or help selling them. I am on ebay all the time and would be happy to help you.

Pam - I have the keyhole hangers but I am missing a few with the similar shape. If you have any of the missing Dolt hangers shown in the photo in yellow, the Karabin Climbing Museum will love to have them if possible. Many thanks!

None of the yellow ones, sorry!
Thanks all for your advice! Steve, I'd love a bit of help...I've never sold anything on Ebay before, and actually just made my first ever Ebay purchase last week! :-)

Thanks Pam! On ebay the Dolt keyhole hangers will fetch $35-$50 each. At the beginning the hangers may fetch more than that, but once the main collectors have them the end price will probably drop because you have so many to sell. You will receive more bids if you sell one per month rather than selling all of them in the same month. Sell them separately and you will get the most $ out of the lot.

Welcome to ebay!

Hey Pam- I will be in Boulder toward the end of next month and would be able to help you sort this out if you are willing to wait that long. Try selling a pair starting at $60 and see where it goes. Take a photo of two nice ones front and back. I like collecting in pairs since a single photo shows both sides of an item and you can pick the best sides to show together.
There are a limited number of collectors out there but they are laying down some serious money buying stuff on ebay. You don't want to let on that you have lots of them or folks will wait.
Ebay is very user friendly and lots of people have sold things there and can help you out so ask around if you are having trouble.
Funny that Jack ended up with so many of these since routes BITD really didn't require more than a half dozen unless he had the Tangerine Trip in mind which had a whole pitch of hangerless studs on the Headwall.

On that note Pam, you might want to delete this thread :-)

Wow, thanks so much! Steve, I CAN probably wait that long....I have to make a trip to California to see Mom soon, so that might work out fine.
For all I know Jack DID Tangerine Trip.....I know he told me he'd done about 17 routes on El Cap, if I'm remembering correctly. Besides that, he collected just about everything under the sun....believe me, this isn't the first go-round in the shed! At this point, I've given away or sold most of the good stuff, and kept some things for myself that I can use, or that I'm still not ready to get rid of.....a looooong process, it seems! Also, upon closer inspection, it looks like 27 are keyhole hangers, the rest of them are just "regular" Dolt hangers........ I also have at least 5 stainless ones...

Pam - by chance are what you refer to as regular Dolt hangers the ones I am missing in the photo shown in yellow?

Also advice for selling on ebay: The items shown in the photo should match what is being sold exactly. If you show new Dolt hangers and the buyer receives rusted dolt hangers they may be returned back to you at your cost. I have returned many items to the seller because it did not match the photo of what I was purchasing. Seller showed new beautiful piton and I received the same piton but it was heavily used and not the same quality item as the photo showed....returned. I purchased nut tool but the nut tool was the same but a earlier generation version.....returned. I purchased bouldering brush but the brush I received had no mfg label printed on it where the photo showed printed mfg label on brush....returned. In the last 5 years I have returned over a dozen items because the item did not match what was being offered in the sellers photo.
