Hey guys and gals,
My wife and I are coming back to Yose on or around the 12-15 of October and we'd love to climb. We're both in our early 30's. We were there a few years ago and didn't get the chance to climb, we only hiked. The place is magical and calling me back. We'll have a car and will probably be airbnb-ing outside the park somewhere.
We're looking for someone you can take us up some climbs (preferably a few pitches at least - nothing overly strenuous). I'll buy you breakfast, lunch, dinner, beer, fuel, even a nice shiny cam if that takes your fancy. We're both super easy going and love a good adventure. We climb frequently at Arapiles in Australia and generally climb trad to about 5.10b. We'll have our harnesses, shoes and belay devices, but thats probably it. I'd really love someone with some local knowledge of the area. Let me know if you can help us out - we can be somewhat flexible with the dates if needs be.
Cheers,
Chris and Philly

You could downlead routes and have the guide follow.

Respect their universal orientation.
Chris , have a great time climbing in Yosemite. I recommend Super Slab.

Two people with no gear = you are asking for a guide. YMS provides guides at standard rates. You could post on the camp 4 bulletin board when you get to the Valley. You might get lucky posting here or mountain project. Or you could probably do the best thing and bring a rack and climb some easy classics and work your way up.

If I was in Yosemite at that time, I would oblige. My son-in-law comes from Sydney, and I climbed a bunch with John Ewbank in The Blue Mtns. and here in New England.
Some here hinted at using a local guide, but I'm pretty sure you have to spend at least one day with the guide service before any guiding of mult-pitch routes.
I understand why you may not be able to bring a rope, rack etc, on your long trip to the U.S.
I suggest you post on partner finders, on the Mountain Project forum. Good Luck!

Cruise Camp 4 and put a note at the kiosk. Find a solo person and throw them a few bucks(and beers) to lead routes. F**k getting a guide.
On the flip-side, I did this one summer for easily 10 different pairs. They stopped by my camp. They said they wanted to climb 10a...was I busy?. I always said sure, lets go do The Good Book tomorrow. I had it super dialed. They were a little sandbagged but I pulled them a little thru the hard bits ;-) No one ever complained btw. $50 please
