Last visited Yosemite in 1976.

Hear tell a few things have changed.

I want to stay two weeks in Yosemite in my old pickup/Lance camper starting April 15 and climb Yosemite classic moderates. All I need is a legal place to park as I am fully self contained. Willing to pay $ and/or share campsight. I am ultra low maintenance/low profile as a campground companion. Worthwhile trad climbing partner for climbs of ilk above-described.

Respond via ST email exchange or directly twprice3@gmail.com. That's t w p r i c e 3 at google's mail dot com

Thanks.

Easter Sunday is April 16. There are no available reservable sites in the park for Sat night April 15. I know, I was trying to stay that night. The next available night is sunday night the 16th in Wawona. Wawona is the only campground with sites available throughout your stay. But you would likely have to change sites often. The best bet is to call the Wawona Campground reservation office. I do not have the number. But they will try to work with you to keep you in the same site as much as possible. ( if someone is in the office. ) Its a pain. I know. I did find this number for the campground. 209-375-9539. Not sure if its the entrance gate or the reservation office. They might tell you that you have to call the reserve america site. First you get your reservation with them, then the office in Wawona helps rearrange the mess the reserve america site gave you.

The other option is to hope that it rains and check for cancellations in the valley. Its a pain.

Or keep checking in here and other climbing sites to see if someone has a site and will share.

Or.. get in line for camp 4. There probably won't by anything available the 15th.

Good luck, and I hope that you have a good trip. Spring in Yosemite is pretty awesome. Still lots of snow though.

If you don't find a campsite to share,
you can drive out of the park on 140 - there are several legal places to park.
Closer than driving to Wawona.

I live in El Portal, those spots are not going to be legal for much longer. Give me a shout and you can park at my place. . .df

Make it look like a boulder, with camouflage paint and lichen.

You'll be bomber ......

Bullwinkle:

Thanks! Offer accepted. How loud do I shout and from where in El Portal?

TWP.

P.S. Will check my personal email; maybe you already told me the answers there.
