I have a question for someone that has the guidebook - what is the proper name for this climb? A search on the internet includes a variety of names:
Shark's Fin Arete
Shark Fin Arete
Shark's Fin
Shark Fin
I am doing a small project for the USFS and don't have a guidebook handy.
Thanks!

great pictures, it is a beautiful scene for sure
I have the picture they want me to print for the Lone Pine Visitor Center, I just need to confirm the name of the climb for the caption

I believe it is Shark's Fin Arete, but I know the climb is X Fin Arete just not certain about the apostrophe. And since we're doing pics too
In fact, if you google Shark Fin Arete all the results come back with the apostrophe except one, and that is for a Shark Fin Arete on the Redwood Coast. For that reason alone I would use the apostrophe.

The formation is the Shark's Fin. The right skyline is the Shark's Fin Arete. There are several other routes.

Thanks for the extra effort Matt, a slight refinement from above with the word "The" in both the name of the formation and route
thanks to all
