Wow, I can't believe it's been ten years since I injured my finger. I was gripping, lifting, etc. too much at one point. My finger started hurting, and I pushed through for about six weeks. What an incredibly stupid youthful decision.
Now, all this time later, I will get pain on the top of the midddle finger of my right hand between the DIP and PIP joint. This is brought on by applying lateral force to the finger, and is accompanied by a barely audible clicking or popping sound. I think that the problem is centered around the DIP joint. If I immobilize the finger, and gently move the DIP back and forth in relation to the rest of the finger, I can elicit the back-of-finger pain.
I'm sort of at a loss here. I don't know if this is hypermobility of the DIP, or a tight tendon. I don't hold out too much hope for a solution, but wonder if anyone can offer some advice. Thanks.
