Hard to believe, hard to understand how much leaves us when anybody dies, but someone like this, well... loved his music.

One of the two most influential songwriters of the last fifty years. (Along with Dylan)

A true genius.

I'm really shaken by this news. Unexpected and saddening. I put Cohen up there with the other great contemporary poets (intentionally not mentioned). I didn't realize he was that far along in years - the clock ticks faster these days, it seems.

The entire enterprise of life, from cradle to grave, is fraught with uncertainty and peril and no one gets out alive.

Thanks Leonard for being whoever it was you thought you were.

Respect, RIP.

Suzanne was my introduction too when I was in high school 20+ years ago.

Montreal lost one of her favorite sons.

^My how times fly. That album was actually released in 1966. I was in college and that was 50 years ago.

From Johnny's 81st album in 1994 American [!] Recordings.

Leonard from the days when he lived up the hill at, you guessed it, Mt. Baldy.

What did Bob Johnston [RIP 2015] say:

Dylan, Cash, Cohen - all the same to me, pleasure to work with
