I borrowed a Silent Partner a few weekends ago and loved it. Does anyone know where to find one for sale? Used?

I heard that they were discontinued for a while or something?

I've got one, here in Yosemite. Used it once, wasn't my style. I'd part with it for $200

Has anyone looked a the Wildcountry Revo as an alternative to the S.P.?

I've never used a SP but my understanding is it has a similar mechanism.

I'm not very talkative, sometimes downright silent. But I'm completely out of action for another month or two.

You can find silent partners in the recycling bin next to the Mammut Smart, trango cinch, robot cams, link cams, maxim ropes, omega pacific carribiners and green aliens that weren't welded. If it doesnt say Petzl, Black Diamond, Metolius, Wild Country or DMM, its not gonna be on my rack. Im still convinced that although totally sketchy when falling upside down, the "modified" Gri-gri with chest harness attachment is still kinda sorta safe. Any other solo belays out there? Somebody please school me here. What are bigwallers using?

I don't see it advertised on Gear Express, Mountain Gear, or EMS. I didn't bother with REI, because their climbing gear selection is so mediocre. Checking Rock Exotica's website, it states that the Silent Partner has been discontinued, and further states "this device will not keep you safe."

I'm not quite sure why, since I have used and taken leader falls on a Silent Partner for years, and lived to tell about it. Then again, I used and took leader falls with the Barnett Method with no ill results, either. In any case, I guess we'd better see why its manufacturer seems to be discouraging its use.

Matt, What's your e-mail? The PM system here does not work and I have one I would part with.
