It works fine for me. There was an update today (ver. 10.0.2) to fix some supposed bugs. I have a 5SE.

So far so good.
I like the text message features so I can send my son goofy graphics.

It rearranged your photos in a bunch of different ways. Could be cool if I actually had time to fine tune the way they're organized.

Jaybro—

I have a third generation iPad from 2012 and it won't run iOS 10.

Has anyone ever figured out why an iPad won't stay logged in to, say, Supertopo? It's other web pages too, though.

If an iPhoneis not powered off it will stay logged in.

Updated to 10.0.2 and does it suck bad? They changed texting 10 ways for
the worse and a bunch of other stuff. They just change stuff to justify
their overblown salaries. What a bunch of horsesh!t.

iOS 10 works well for me.
There is a lot more connectivity between apps (only ones that get updated to take advantage) that can be very useful, e.g. time saving.
Notifications come to your home screen automatically and you can open the notifying app directly. The notifications observe the same security as the calling app. This is more secure and saves a LOT of time if you use any updated messaging apps. Actually many types of apps.
Siri is much more intelligent and therefore more useful.
Security is stronger for non-Apple apps such as banking, which I use nearly daily.
For iPhones 5 and later the touch pad does more (part of security enhancements)
32GByte phones may have problems if you're getting low on memory, like my wife's. It frequently runs short on memory and comes to a halt. Closing open apps usually fixes it.
My 64Gig iPhone5 works fine.
I can't see any good reason not to upgrade if you've got enough memory.
Airplay can do more which is great with AppleTV.
I've been getting the Giants playoff games live on my iPhone and playing them on my AppleTV.

Even my technophobe wife is liking it better than iOS9

"If an iPhone is not powered off it will stay logged in."

My iPhones have stayed logged it to Supertopo for years. Regardless of whether I turned them off. Kind of strange now that I think about it. I think it's even stayed logged in when I've gotten new phones.

Maybe it's because I have the forum page saved in my Bookmarks?

Well said Reilly. The "ihassle" has gone middle school with all the b.s. added to the text screen with this new operating system.

Apple must have run out of useful innovations, so now they grasping. With "ihassle" 10.02 you can't send a simple text w/o all kinds of screens popping up to format your message to look like one of the hundreds of handwritten notes i collected from my 6th and 7th grade girls (boys didn't pass notes, they just verbalized their messages).

To each his or her own, but i wish i had never uploaded the Downgrade. You can't opt out of the maddening changes.

BACK

My link to ST is on favorites and logon is not lost with power down.

Maybe what I'm remembering is from before saving a link in favorites.

This is an old iPhone I inherited running iOS 7.1.2

Now on to the iPad - also inherited

The iPad was 'defaulting' into private mode where info is not retained.

Problem solved I believe.

Well, that's completely false. I have 10.0.2 and my texting works almost exactly as the way it did before. It isn't mandatory to use any of the new texting features.

You can't opt out of the maddening changes.

I have.

If you don't like the iPhone you can switch to any one of a half dozen knockoffs for less money. Many of them very good phones.
You can even get a Galaxy Note7 if you want to burn up the next plane you fly on. Well not any more you can't.

my iPhones have stayed logged it to Supertopo for years.
Are you certain it's "logged in"?
The Safari browser (like most other browsers) remembers the last website you visit. So next time you wake up or restart the phone it takes you back to the last site. Dunno if you can bypass that but you can be sure it's not connected to SuperTopo while Safari is off. Although I can't prove it, I expect it also disconnects when asleep.
Obviously your Phone app doesn't really "sleep", it's always listening for phone calls. It would be really annoying if it fell asleep and you missed an important call. Although you can make it do THAT if you like.
I suspect that the messaging apps do the same.

OS10 does have a new Notifications behavior which sends you messages from a large number of apps. You can configure which apps you want to receive (and to listen to the outside world) notifications in Settings->Notifications
Some notifications come from an app on your phone (like your calendar) to bring you important messages. These CAN wake your phone but you can disable this as well if you turn off Settings->Notifications "Show on lock screen". You also now have more control over the lock screen: See Settings->General->Background App Refresh.

If you don't like the way your iOS10 phone behaves, look through settings. You have control over a large number of its automatic/background behaviors.
A good example is the eBay app. If you turn on Background App Refresh and someone outbids you you'll get a message.
Some transit apps will let you know that the next train/bus/plane is arriving etc.
Of course you have to upgrade to the new iOS10 compatible apps.
All your old iOS8/9 apps should work just as before if you like.

Oh yeah, now you have more control over your keyboard. See Settings->General->Keyboards (yes, you now have 2 by default and might be able to add others in the future)
You don't like your keyboard automatically filling in your next character and giving you the wrong word? Turn off Predictive.
While you're messing with Keyboards settings, checkout About Dictation and Privacy at the bottom. You may want to turn Dictation off if you're paranoid, or Julian Assange.

Most Apple apps now support Dictation (for Siri among other things) so lots of the updated apps have a similar control.

If you're Uber paranoid go to Settings->Safari->Advanced->Website Data and Remove All Website Data at the bottom. Now your S.O. can't know where you've been browsing.
Checkout the other Safari Settings that can let you control your privacy:
Search Engine Suggestions, Safari Suggestions, Do Not Track, Check for Apple Pay, Block Cookies etc.

You can even change your search engine from Google to Yahoo, Bing or DuckDuckGo.

There is a big difference between logged in and connected.

Check it out.

Like I said, turn on private browsing and compare.

I have.

Curt, you must know something the apple techs don't know, they told me the text screen has no optional settings. If you know how to opt out of these unwanted text options please inform me.

I tilt my phone 2° and this pops up:

DMT,

Not bad advice if i had a portable desk to place the phone so that i won't tilt.
