What do they run these days? Or a condo?

Currently living in South Orange county CA, but my rent has been jacked up so much it is out of my fundability.

Need to move somewhhere and find a new job. I have worked for 30 years in water treatment (the clean kind).

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Why CSprings? Do you already have a job lined up?
anyway rents run between 800 and 1K for a 1bd/

btw, it's a pretty conservative town.

Plenty of evangelical churches if that's your thing. I would look further north along the Front Range.

Thanks for the responses. Lived in CO Springs back in the 80s and loved the place. Just need to get out of SoCal. My rent for a 1 bedroom is about to jump to $2K/month.

I figure to just get out of SoCal and work it from there. Gonna be an expensive move but cheaper than staying here.

edit: tami, looks like some good opportunities. unforftunately I have a DUI on my record and Canada won't let me in anymore.

tp. . . do you need help getting organized?

?

Kinda sort of, but think I can deal with it. Packing and getting rid of sh!t is my biggest problem. I'm too old to to do the Uhaul thing. Need to pay for a mover to move my crap. Too many appliances and too much furniture and cook ware. And clothes out the ass; it amazes me how much crap I have. Six packs, six tents and a bunch of other stuff.

Yeah, I'm needing to pare down as well. Leaving Nederland in a week for a new adventure in Grass Valley. Good luck in the Springs!

How about the West Slope? We have one traffic light in our entire county.

Taos is better than Albuquerque, ask Bob D'A.

My brother has a place in Ridgway,at Elk Meadows but I don't want to impose and not sure I could get a job there.

Let me know if you need any help, I am just down the freeway. I have a small enclosed Wells Cargo trailer that is great for moving.

John - I lived there too in the '80s (how come I don't know you?, climbing community wasn't that big then.) It was great then, don't know about now, seems to have gotten a lot bigger. As for the conservatives christians populating it now, if the mormons in Salt Lake didn't bother me I doubt if these clowns would.

I am in NM and work on lots water issues, seems to me demand for professionals generally exceeds supply depending on what you do or want to do. I have a love hate relationship with NM but there is tons of uncrowded outdoor stuff to do. Best of luck to you!

A lot to ponder. $600 bucks in JT sounds pretty good. I'd prefer something more alpine, but mainly just want to get out of southern cal.
