Hi All,
I'm moving to Bishop in about 3 weeks for a new job and lifestyle change. Reaching out to the supertopo community to see if anyone knows of any available housing opportunities. Ideally, I will find somewhere to rent for a short period of time before finding a more permanent situation.
Also will need to start developing an expanded list of climbing partners in the area so feel free to PM me if you're in the area and want to get out. Excited for long alpine routes, trad, sport etc. until wall season opens back up in the valley.
Thanks for any advice!

Horrible place to live. You sure you wanna commit to it? If you do check here. It's pretty useful for finding decent places to live in Bishop. And welcome to the neighborhood.

Max, I am so happy for you. I have not been on ST for ages. Would love to live there if I could find work and didn't have so much sh#t to move.
Just want to put a good word in for Max. He is a solid guy and taken to climbing like a fish to water. He'd make a solid climbing partner. So help a bro out.
I have a few contacts down there Max I'll shot you an email. Good luck down there. I'll be on the East Side the end of August. Lets climb something together.

H-
Going through that dilemma right now, but looking to move to CO Springs. Too much stuff after being here in SOCal so long. Refrigetator, washer, dryer and furniture. Blows my mind how much crap I would need to deal with.

Tell me about it. I filled a 20 foot container when I retired from Japan to Colorado. Two years later I haven't unpacked even half of it.

Big lifestyle change......go with it. When we moved here I had 30 years of crap. Don't move or store it.....Get rid of it. Get a dumpster. Your climbing lifestyle will love it. Don't allow your useless crap to stop you.

Laughing and crying at the same time. Every time I move I toss most of my stuff. When the ex and I split up, I tossed a boat load of old gear amongst other things. Would be worth thousands today. Oh well, water under the bridge.

Moving to Bishop would be the easy part. I have over 50 years of my parents' accumulated crap here on the SF Peninsula, including thousands of books, fine China, silverware, telescopes, heirlooms and collectibles.
Maybe I should just opt for Oakhurst instead? Shortest line between two points. Somebody said that Oakhurst in the "new" Bishop whatever that means?

Hey, Max, welcome to the hood. Good people in this town, and lots of "retired" climbers. I intend to be one of them next year. Watch out for Frumy. He's serious about that offer! Interesting about your coming from Sebastopol. My wife and I were long term Sonoma County residents. We both graduated from Sonoma State. I taught at SRJC for about six years. My family owned property just outside Guerneville for about sixty years. No longer, tho. Love Sonoma, but for the likes of us--rock and mountain and desert junkies--Bishop is heaven.

That #7 on the bishop rentals sheet is in a convenient and nicer part of town. Don't know if that apartment building is nice or not.
Where'd you get a job at?
