Was driving to the black hills from my parents 50th in eastern so dak and I could see a red sunset when the the sun want setting. There had been some fires in the hills but I couldn't see a plume of smoke and you could see the whole range from my vantage point. Did some research and it turns out that Ten Sleep canyon is on fire. They have closed highway 16 which will cause major problems for those that live in the area. Online reports put the fire at 3000 acres. Ten Sleep has become a major sport climbing destination with great free camping in the woods below the cliffs. Hope things get under control.

Trying to get from pinedale to Jackson last week and had to drive 80 miles of dirt road to get around the white cliff fire. Was wicked smokey. The whole Jackson hole valley was smoked in

The view west from Devils tower was pretty smokey this morning! There's also a similar sized prarie fire burning north of Gillette...

Trad, you guys gonna be around for Vedauwoo sushifest?
