Russell Braddock, one of NZ's finest climbers has been tragically killed in the French Alps. He was 60 years old.

There is quite a bit on the NZAC Facebook page about this June 21st date

This is the avalanche http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/video.cfm?c_id=1503076&gal_cid=1503076&gallery_id=162088

Russ was, as one described , one who walked the talk. A quiet man. Many would never of heard of the things he achieved in the climbing world because he didn't blow his own horn he was just out there doing it.

He was planning on moving back to NZ soon.
