Hey Guys,
I wanted to share a project I'm working on with the hopes of helping outdoor sport companies (Especially Climbing Brands) to grow.
Reddyyeti is dedicated to help startups in the outdoor sport industry gain momentum without breaking the bank on marketing expenses. We do this through gear giveaways, gear reviews, and telling the story of how these brands got their start and what sets them apart from their competitors.
We are Currently Featuring Tension Climbing, Bam Climbing, and Hummingbird Hammocks, along with a constant rotation of brands that are brining something new and innovative to the table.
Our Spring Giveaway series JUST started last Tuesday and we are giving away the lightest hammock on the market!
I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and would love any feedback or suggestions. It's all about building a community that WANTS to see positive progression and innovation; Join the movement!

This is a question that comes up a lot. ReddyYeti is more a labor of love/passion than anything else but we do plan on building it to eventually make a living and are working to get that up and running this year.
Our goal is to be an affiliate of the brands we support, much like how Backcountry.com generates revenue. By directing traffic to these startups we'd get a percentage of any sale that we help these companies get. The beauty of it is we only get paid for the help we provide so no one gets the short end of the stick (well, except for us maybe, but that's only more motivation to be better at what we're trying to do)
RIGHT NOW, this is NOT set up and we are helping these companies without getting any commissions. The only way this will succeed is if we create a large enough following but until then we are only paid in pats on the back, but all in all it has been super fun to do.
We're really lucky because we haven't gotten anything but positive feedback. We're 100% transparent and if there's something we're doing that people don't like we address it right away. This isn't for us this is to help the sports we love take positive steps into the future. No one really cares about the super young start-ups so it's a good way to really see what people are doing to stand out from the big players.
And we are in NO WAY anti-big brands, we just want to help the little guy and give people a little more say in shaping the industry. ( More options are always nice, right?) People don't realize how steep marketing expenses are and, coupled with the initial start up costs, it ends up being a hefty price. We help keep them from breaking the bank on marketing expenses.
Hope that answers your question!
-Matt

Good luck. I was in the outdoor indusrty for quite a few years and saw quite a few good products not make it because of a lack of good marketing.

Thank you!! It means a lot and I really really appreciate it!
If you could help share our message to get the word out we'd greatly appreciate it! Our success completely depends on the size of our community and although we've been growing consistently any extra help is always appreciated! =)
Cheers,
Matt

Thanks for the reply and the feedback!!!
I know that the issues regarding the giveaway page are being tackled as we speak and will definitely tackle the other issues ASAP.
Since, we all work other jobs in addition to this it can get tough to stay on top of changes so pointing out problems is SUPER helpful for us
I'll try to return with updates!!

Hope no one else signs up for the hammock giveaway, since that is the only way I can win. LOL
I saw the following item was adjustable hangboard..Was wondering if you guys know of any company that makes some sort of a finger training device that is easy to take on a roadtrip. For example an expedition goes into the mountains with the only hope of climbing for 3 out of 15 days they will be waiting out bad weather. some device which is easy to set up for pull ups/hangboarding would be great to have.

Vitality -- Best of Luck to you =)
I actually don't know of a compact, portable, devices but have been scouring the interwebs looking for one (especially since I bounce around a lot and have limited time to get actual climbing in =[... ) If you come across any brands you'd want to see in a giveaway or hear the story of definitely send me an email: Matt@reddyyeti.com
Other than that I'll try to find something!!!
Naitch -- Thanks for letting us know!!! Drew just contacted the software company to have them re-scan our site. Send me an email and we can chat further, I'd love to hear more about your company. Again, you can reach me at Matt@reddyyeti.com
