Could be a remnant of a power-pole type trestle maybe? Aren't there old power lines that run down the side of the valley to or near the Generator station?

What's more interesting are the large red arrows someone left up there!?

It's appears that someone is trying to point to something...

Is that below archrock?

I always thought a section across the river below there looked like it had at one time been an access trail to the river

cant tell if its the same location though

What's this, a game show?

See who can give the most flip answer?

I think for once Squishy's serious! :0)

It seems to be further up-canyon than Arch Rock.

Obviously, it would help to know from where the shot is taken.

The shooter is standing on an outcrop, judging by the foreground.

There's no place to park on the road from what I can tell.

Wish I had Google Earth installed.

Also, whose red line is that and where did you get the photo?

The answer is out there.

You should offer a token prize, Squishy.

Beers are good enough for this crowd.

Ark Rock, fer criminy sakes...

Is there water in the summertime up above? Looks like someone could stash some 5 gallon buckets in that frame, hidden up on that mungy ledge, maybe run a hose down from a spring.

Dunno why anyone would bother with all that.

This is at the narrows, hwy 140, just east of the old dam. there used to be a series of ladders going up this cliff but over the years it has fallen apart. it was really visible in the 70's. i assume it was to get past this section before the road was put in? as where it starts is the last place you can hike before it cliffs out with the river. red arrows point to old parts and x is location of old parts. one can imagine that before the road was put in the cliff past where the ladder started went straight down to the river

But no one here knows what it was used for? Or who built it?

it's amazing how quickly Americans can forget their own history, even when it's right there in front of them all the time...

That seems to be a reasonable answer.

The aerial photo of that shrine-like structure shows several nearby rock formations that look like a human face, a cow and some sort of highly-advanced space vehicle.

From the ground, you would never be able to see the face, cow or spaceship. They are only visible from the air. Those rocks have been there for thousands of years, long before humans could fly.

So, that must have been left there by aliens, as some sort of aerial navigation aid to help them find their way around.
