29 year old Tad McCrea roared into my house fresh from an ascent of the "Funhog Route" on Fitzroy and the decks were cleared for some climbing. I had been doing just fine with fishing, kayaking, pack rafting and exploring but youth must be served.

I had been looking at some possibilities in the Rio Colonial valley and further exploration served up a sweet peak with 6,500 ft. of prominence. Unfortunately 2,300 of that was STEEP rainforest bushwacking. The four days went like clockwork if you discount Tad's battle with a whirlpool on the mighty Baker river which resulted in a capsized pack raft and a ruined camera.

Full TR to follow when I return to the States.

THE DUDE PROVIDES

thnx for all the climbing stoke,

I wish to say more in this vein of exhuberent complementary remarks, given the tease of a view,

the view!! wow!

but having been recently accused of same, ( ball cuppin' and worse...? or more ,....whatever)
I will demure,

to finish though,
thank you for showing that,It gives the dreams, climbers need.
This gives the reason or the answer to why we climb , (or for some, why),
the reason to dial in the systems that make true adventures possible.

THERE IT IS,
Can you see a peak ?
if only for the briefest moments between storm and clear blue sky.
that should be all the beta ,
information needed
to strike out and see if you can find a way to the base and then up to the summit.

Nobody likes a tease, even an accomplished one, unless he or she eventually delivers. ;-)

Awesome,
I love that part of Patagonia, but it's been 8 long years now.
My neighbor's daughter in San Diego (A young African-American) just spent a year teaching English in Coyaique and she just loved it.
Can't wait for the TR.

You've always been a tease Jim. Looks like a great adventure. I need to get down there again. Thanks for the mid ski season warm sunny climbing stoke.

Donini! I'm still hoping for you to knock off at least one more of your objectives on the Northern Icecap this season.

Best hopes for good weather!

Off on another exploration, could be pretty okay. Sounds like Estados Unidos is poltically self destructing....oh well.
