He was found alive and well in La Paz. Maybe his good friend has the back story? Relieved that this had a good outcome.

I can't link - oh, - there it is, cool, the story :it is one of an . Entitled . . . .? who spent any credibility that he might have had by blowing off Thanksgiving in a selfish way.
I would start name calling but maybe there is more to the story?

Missing 'X-Men' Producer Found Safe After Tipster Contacts HuffPost
Eric Kohler was found one day after HuffPost received a tip he was in the town of La Paz, Mexico.

CARLOS IVAN BAEZ NAVARRO took a picture - ,click on the last of the three Red links,
at the end of the link above, where the following & the photo can be seen.

According to his family, he was working at Vitality VFX in Gardena, California, when he left work that afternoon to run errands.
Shortly thereafter, Kohler's vehicle was captured on surveillance video at a nearby shopping center, but authorities have been unable to determine who was actually behind the wheel. The vehicle's destination remained a mystery until Friday.
“That’s basically all we knew was the photos," said LAPD Detective K. Thomas, when asked if the tip had helped to locate Kohler. "The family, they observed them and said, ‘Yes, that is him’ and there is some other information we have to say that he is in fact in Mexico, but the pictures definitely helped. He has been identified down there. I have spoken with individuals who have met him face-to-face and we have some additional information to substantiate that he is in Mexico.”
No further details are currently available on Kohler's safe recovery.
This is a developing story and will be updated.

There was an article in yesterdays's LA Times also. The status they used is "voluntarily missing".

I agree the original thread should not have been deleted. All it would have taken from the OP is a single line update.

I agree eKat. That's why I think the OP should have posted just the one line. No obligation to post or speculate on details but just to let the rest of the people who read the thread know there was a "happy" ending.

Pretty lame to take off without telling anyone. Hope he gets hit with any search costs. And why did the authorities not check for airline reservations?

According to the guys Sister (on FB), the La Paz thing was a hoax, and the picture was old. However a later post states that he is home with his family.

All's well that ends well I guess.

This is not a trivial thing.

In all probability, a lot of police resources (ie, taxpayer dollars) were spent on this.

Not cool.

In all probability, this involved drug behavior, mental illness (I'd bet manic phase of manic-depressive), or illegal behavior.

I think most of us would agree that this is not reasonable behavior.

Glad he turned up before the visionaries and psychics came out of the woodwork.

As the mom of a young adult son the anxiety would have killed me.
After the hugs of relief, someone would have had to peel my hands off his neck!

Huffington post got it confirmed with the "California authorities", you are saying that someone lied to them? That's not a good thing. Quote Huffpo:
"California authorities have confirmed that missing Hollywood producer Eric Kohler has been found safe in Mexico, one day after The Huffington Post published exclusive photos that allegedly showed him posing with a dog and two women."

Strangely, this came up in a search for "Kohler missing". Didn't end nearly as well:
Two of the eight skeletons found in Fort Myers on March 23 have been identified through a DNA match. They are the remains of Erik Kohler and John C. Blevins.
Kohler was reported missing in October 1995. According to the National Center for Missing Adults record, Kohler was last seen last seen in the vicinity of the 1100 block of Winston St. in Port Charlotte, FL. He said he was going to a friend's home and never returned.
