whoa… that is a big dude. 6'5" 262 lbs. I would not have wanted to try and tackle him. Tree stumps for legs.. and speed.

A national hero here. Every school kid knows what he did against the English in the 1995 World Cup. Heck, I'm a rugby newb and I've seen that clip a couple of dozen times this last week and I don't own a TV.
Here's a collection of what he did.

The South Africans had to completely change their game plan in order to make sure that he didn't get the ball or any space. It worked for them and Lomu never got his World Cup championship. Sadly, his kidney disease forced him to retire early, but not after changing rugby.
The radio stations were posting updates from his memorial service at Eden Park during the day.

A great player and person who left way before his time.
The game against England pretty much sums it up. See above.
I grew up in NZ watching him play. At times he was a liability on defense but once he had the ball in his hands he was a game changer.

By all accounts he was a very nice guy too. So sad that he died so young.
Watching some of this footage it's clear that he was in a different league. An how many other people over 260 lbs can run 100 yards in 10.8 seconds.

That dude was sick. Hadn't heard of him until now. What a powerhouse and a joy to watch.
