Thanks for the detailed report & great photos. A very complicated process that is routine for those fine folks.

I wonder if it was the pitch right off of Guano/Ahwahnee (assuming it was WFLT, maybe it wasn't since they were back on Ahwahnee?)? I just did this a couple times this year and thought there was some real potential for injury. Leading it, you want to backclean a lot to make it easier on your 2nd, but it a long, traversing way to get to the first fixed gear. Being a fairly new aid climber, I can honestly say that pitch wigged me out a bit.

Very nice documentation of this event. It's good to know that Yosemite SAR is out there for everyone. Thanks again for all the stuff you post up!

Way to go YOSAR !
And thanks for the report.
I guess YOSAR didn't get the memo that El Cap Meadow is closed for rejuvenation. Ya I saw all the new signs being posted on big giant posts and you can see the dead grass they spread all over the old paths. Out of control.

I always curious how injured party initiated the rescue if no phone service available?
There is no phone service in the Leaning tower parking lot. Do they have it on the wall?

Absolutely terrific photo story, Tom! You do amazing work. Thank you!
And I am incredibly impressed with YOSAR. That was a beautiful operation. I hope the anti-establishment segment of the climbing gang will give the NPS credit where it is due.

Thanks Tom, great reporting.
Can we, the climbing community, ever thank the SAR team enough?

Thank you Yosar for what you do, and all sars and first resonders around the country.
As always, many thanks to Tom too.

I remember the descent from the LT as being a shooting gallery grovel fest. Has that been cleaned up or is there a better alternative? Leaving SAR members up on the top to get themselves down is kind of rude!

What an incredible job YOSAR did on this rescue on Leaning Tower, the longest piece of overhanging rock in the Sierra Nevada.Just how steep is it? Look at the attached image and judge for yourself. BTW, That is Warren Harding on the rope.
