What on earth makes you think it's closed?
It's likely to have traffic control most of the summer due to road work.
It'll certainly be slow during the day.

And even if it were close, 108 (Sonora Pass) is a not too bad alternative depending on your starting and destination points.

It's been posted before but you can always get current California state and federal highways conditions here:

Tioga Pass is California Hwy 120. You can even put in multiple hwy numbers separated by commas.

1-WAY CONTROLLED TRAFFIC AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS FROM 8 MI WEST OF GROVELAND

FROM 0700 HRS TO 1400 HRS MONDAY THRU FRIDAY THRU 7/10/15 - DUE TO MAINTENANCE
 MOTORISTS ARE SUBJECT TO DELAYS OF UP TO 10 MINUTES
Looks as if today is the last day for the maintenance delays. Possibly.

I've seen some forecasts for Tioga Pass to get ~1/2" of snow Sunday. Any estimations on the likelihood that it gets closed?

are you saying 1 to 2 inches or one half inch?

Either way that shouldn't be enough to close a roadway this time of year since the road surfaces are still getting a good angle from the sun (unless that amount was the forecast for snow sticking to roadways, which i doubt).
