Legendary 70/80's rock athlete Ron Fawcett spotted buying bananas today in our local Co-op store at 6:08pm.

Famous for teaching Yanks how to climb.

Precise location: 53.328228, -1.740655

In conversation he said he'd been flying yesterday and was looking forward to seeing his mate Chris Gibb whose back from Thailand for a while.

Also discussed was the availability of asparagus (at fresh produce) and the current heatwave.

I said I'd post on the Taco stand and whilst at the checkout I asked if he had anything to say to the USA he said..

Ron Fawcett was once spotted buying spotted bananas.
He said he likes lots of really ripe bananas in his smoothies
and that he's a huge fan of banana nut bread, too.

Slow news day on the island Mick? Haha. In either case, thanks for any news. Always nice to see how our more backwards compadres are doing. (Joking, joking!!) Is Ron still climbing? Cause he looks honed for an old dude.

Ron, sounds like you may see this thread at some point, so let me heap on a little further embarrassment by saying, I read your book last year and loved it.
Cutting edge climbing + dealing with life's curveballs - rock star attitude = inspiring.
