list them here.
don't hold back.
you're safe,
as are your most colorful secrets.

no recruiters ever visit this site.
come on. we're a bunch of filthy, self-righteous,
alter-rich, narcissists.
and no self-respecting company would
ever hire a one of us.

dump out your purse.
right here.

the boos?
carreer risks?
choice in women?
choice in men?
choices exercised?

did you not take enough chances?
or too many?

did you not listen?
to the music.
or to your parents?

did you supress your
heartfelt expressions?
or did you say too much?

did you burn bridges?
and inhale the smoke?

how about well-being?
did you kick it around and spit on it?
or did you become a slave to it's pursuit?

did you exorcise unkindness?
did you not dump adequate love on those deserving?

did you cheat?
on yourself?
or the dream?

how about it?

i'm guilty of every single assertion listed above (except for choosing a man, not that's wrong.)

but i don't regret a one of them.

i only experience fleeting feelings of regret.
but then i realize that i cannot
re-direct reality as it passes thru me.

bare all, friends and imagined acquaintances.
we won't hold nothing against you.

and thank you.[Click to View YouTube Video]

The weight of the good so far outweighs the bad, that regrets are not even a topic needed to be looked at - for me. My main goal in life was to live till my youngest was 5 years old. I have done so and am satisfied and grateful. He's 24 now and off climbing at City of Rocks. Before he left I sat down with him and asked if he thought I had conveyed everything that was of any importance and signifigance. He said yes, in fact, many were drilled repeatedly and he recited a litany of them to me. It's so serene on your soul to hit your most important goal and pass it by a wide mile.

I used to think I had a lot of regrets, but looking a my life now and seeing what I got, which is a lot, I wouldn't change to much. Those choices, good or bad got me here. Only two I wish I could do over.

1 Not getting back to the states before my mother died.
2 Plowing into a CHP cruiser with my 68 GTO in Santa Cruz in 91

I really regret looking at this thread, but now I'm here:

Mouse regrets he had too many cats and not more egrets for pets

http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/cattle_egret/sounds

Even eager egret owners err in their choices

But in spite of smelling of cowflops they birds have nice v-v-v-voices

I give you the Bird and you give me that Turd
And we can call it Even Steven

If it was a duck I'd call it Chuck, or Bob, or Werner

My few regrets entailed women and alcohol. Not necessarily together. Could a lesson be in there??

As Frank often sang:

"Regrets? I have a few...
But then again, too few to mention."

Life is short - we're here for a good time, not a long time. Live each day as though it were your last. [It could be, and you don't have to look far to find examples] Share your love, but do not squander it on the unreceptive. And when you find your Beloved, move heaven and earth to make her yours.

Seek your Destiny, it exists, may even already exist [Ps 103]

Follow your heart, and fukk your detractors - you don't need their approval. Only you can choose your own path to happiness. Dare to follow a path outside the norm - there are plenty here at McTopo who do that.

Choose your friends wisely - those who will love you and accept you unconditionally, no matter what you do, no matter what your choices.

Because at the end of the day, it's not about who approved of you, or envied you, or congratulated you. And it's not about "he who dies with the most toys wins". What's the point in being the Richest Man in the Graveyard?

It's about the joys you shared, the people you loved, the adventures you survived, the wines you enjoyed, the rocks you climbed, the caves you discovered...

But mostly, it's about the FUN you had!

Regrets............I maybe should have acted more on what Dan suggested. But life is, and most do the best, and after that forgiveness.

I do not live with regrets. For that I am thankful.

10b4me, Not yet cause I'm still working on checking off the list. Still need time on a vessel on an ocean or another body of H20.

Edit: But 10b4me you bring up an interesting question. Do we regret not doing things, adventures, life challenges etc. Or do we regret things pertaining to life, love, emotions etc. Different those but also intertwined....

I don't believe in regrets. I don't allow for myself to dwell upon those types of thoughts. I don't feel that it is healthy. This is an ideal state that I sometimes have to work for but in general I can live up to it.

kaholatingtong,

Your reply is interesting. Do you not have regrets and if you do, do you just put them behind you?
